It is a great privilege to open the door to my heart and honor the memory of my late husband, Dick Rose, the inspiration for Angel On My Shoulder through my message to each of you.
In 1995, I (along with my children) founded Angel On My Shoulder in loving memory of, Dick, who fought a courageous battle with cancer. My hope was to make something good out of something bad and through the creation of “Angel” become the emotional backbone for the cancer-affected community. It brings me personal joy and fills me with hope to go on with his memory by making a positive difference to those living with or affected by cancer and never forgetting to celebrate life.
In that spirit, I continue to move forward with my life changed forever and my eyes wide open to the needs of others, keenly aware of the strength of love. My hope is to be able to touch the world with a passion and compassion for people.
The following is a quote that reflects my sentiments on the mission of Angel On My Shoulder.“It’s really much easier to help people and causes than what most people seem to think. You just go out and take that first step and things start falling in place. If they don’t, you change direction, but you never pull over and park”.
Author: Jason Crowe, founder (at age 11) of the The Cello Cries on, Inc.
It amazes me how Angel has grown in genuinely wonderful ways over its eleven-year “wing” span. We continue to develop many programs and other avenues of support to assist those living with or affected by cancer, as you will see throughout this newsletter. We make every effort to “be there” for those who reach out to us. Angel’s wings definitely have not been clipped. Cancer does not have geographical boundaries.
Yes, it’s true… you heard it here… Angel has undergone a “weblift”!!!!
We hope you enjoy our newly re-designed, easy-to-navigate website complete with photos and downloadable registration forms.
All the information has been updated and we have launched a new Message Board. Learn more about Angel and our programs. Put on that halo and join our real time forum and reach out to each other. We invite you to visit us often.
I close with the words of Barbara DeAngelis: “Love and kindness are never wasted. They always make a difference.”
Take care and God bless,
Lolly Rose
