Camp Teen Angel

Camp Teen Angel is a cost-free weekend camp for teens 13-15 who are affected by the cancer of a close family member (sibling, parent or grandparent), or who have experienced the loss of a close family member due to cancer. It’s tough to be a teen under the best of circumstances, so our aim is to give teens a break from the burden of cancer. The weekend, held at Camp Manito-wish in Boulder Junction, WI, is filled to the brim with activities for our campers.
Here are some of the highlights:

Campers arrive late afternoon on Friday, are greeted by our staff and counselors, and get a chance to settle in to their cabin. There is a brief orientation and some ice-breaker activities before supper.

On Saturday, we will take a short bus trip to a riding stable for some horseback riding, then back to camp for lunch and to be challenged by the High-ropes Course, where we will fly through the treetops, and test our courage. We also hold a Sharing Session for campers to talk about their cancer experience and share advice with each other.

Sunday we board the Pirate Ship for high-seas adventure – bring your swim suits, mateys, you’re bound to get wet when you walk the plank. Sunday evening we will “dance until our feet can’t feel the ground”.

Monday morning, we pack up, have a great breakfast and enjoy some time in the Rocking Chair Room before boarding the bus for the trip home with new-found friends.

This just a sampling of the fun we have planned. Got to save a few surprises. Download your registration forms and apply soon so you don’t miss out on any of the action.
