Polar Plunge 2017
Through the dedication, commitment and leadership of founders and organizers, Mike Wolf, George and Lois Ruediger, and Bonnie’s Lakeside in Three Lakes, WI hosted the 15th ANNUAL NORTHWOODS ORIGINAL POLAR BEAR PLUNGE.
The Plunge took take place at Bonnie’s Lakeside on Hwy 32 in Three Lakes, at the plunge time of 1pm. All plungers will received a commemorative Plunge towel when exiting the water for warmth and memories! In addition, all plungers received a 2016 Polar Bear Plunge t-shirt.
The NORTHWOODS ORIGINAL POLAR BEAR PLUNGE has grown and evolved since its beginning in 2000. Radio personalities at WRJO in Eagle River Mike Wolf and Amy Linnett, along with Eric Schoeneck and Dick Lemke host a 30-hour Pledge-a-Thon prior to the plunge on WRJO Radio. This “red-eye” event has raised awareness of our programs as well as an incredible amount in pledges.
To date, the Plunge has raised over $333,000 for Angel On My Shoulder. This money benefits our camps: Camp Angel, Camp Teen Angel, Angel Adventures and Angel Adventures Extreme, along with providing support for our other programs.
