Our Mission

Offering in-kind support for individuals and families living with or affected by cancer through granting special requests.

AOMS 2022 Letter

Angel On My Shoulder was created in 1995 as a “Labor of Love”. We proudly celebrate how our cancer support foundation has grown throughout these twenty-seven remarkable years, providing support to those living with or affected by cancer in most impactful and meaningful ways.

It is a great personal honor for me to open the door of my heart and pay tribute to the memory of my husband, Dick Rose, the inspiration for Angel On My Shoulder. Following Dick’s heavenly transition after a courageous battle with cancer, I (along with our children) founded Angel On My Shoulder. Keenly aware of the strength of love, this Foundation was created to “give back” through our mission of making a positive and profound difference to individuals and families affected by cancer.

In that spirit and with grateful hearts, the Rose Family proudly announces that on August 14, 2022 (commemorating the day of Dick’s heavenly transition), we will gently “Sunset” Angel On My Shoulder and transition our mission created as a “Labor of Love” to a “Legacy of Love”.

Angel On My Shoulder will evolve into a beautiful “Sunrise with new opportunities available to continue our mission to support individuals, children and families on their cancer journeys. Our decision to “Pay It Forward” through newly established” “Angel Endowments” was made with faith, hope and genuine compassion for those in need.

Based on the high volume of referrals provided to us on an ongoing basis throughout Angel’s twenty-seven years, along with the importance of statewide outreach, Angel On My Shoulder proudly names the following health care facilities as recipients of our endowments. Each endowment directly aligns with and will carry on Angel On My Shoulder’s mission for many years to come. Each one designed to focus on Child Life programs to benefit children and families affected by cancer. Other cancer support needs (young and old) will be included.

We are beyond pleased that Angel On My Shoulder can continue to be a blessing to others by providing these new opportunities to meet the needs of those navigating the emotional and stressful world of cancer.

Angel On My Shoulder would be honored and beyond grateful if you would kindly consider any one or more of these as a giving opportunity. It would truly be a meaningful tribute to Angel On My Shoulder’s twenty-seven years of an incredible “Labor of Love” by continuing to support our mission of embracing the needs of individuals, children and families on their cancer journeys to bring them light, peace and hope.

Specific information on these Endowments and how to donate to them will be available and announced in the very near future, here and elsewhere.

Angel On My Shoulder gratefully acknowledges our “above and beyond” volunteers who opened their hearts, time and schedules over these twenty-seven years to be “hands on” at our Angel programs and events. We absolutely could not have done it without them. Thanks to each and every one from the bottom of our hearts!

Special recognition to ALL of the Angel On My Shoulder Board of Directors members (past and present) for their phenomenal years of service. It truly was rewarding working together with them all. Words cannot adequately express our gratitude.

Our forever appreciation to the Angel On My Shoulder Executive Council members . . .
Mark O’Connell, Andy Phillips and Nancy Schuller for their unparalled commitment, hard work and unending dedication to our mission.

To all of our Angel friends and supporters . . . we extend our genuine and deepest appreciation for your kindness and, generosity over the years. The spirit of selfless giving shines through each of you. It would be an honor to continue Angel’s mission with you through your support of our new endowments.

We are and always will be “Angel Family”.

Take Care, God Bless and please remember to “Celebrate Life”,
Lolly Rose, Founder/Executive Director and the Rose Family (Mark Rose, Lisa Rose, Rick Rose, Mary (Rose) Long)
