Our Mission
Offering in-kind support for individuals and families living with or affected by cancer through granting special requests.
Angel On My Shoulder was created in 1995 as a “Labor of Love”. We proudly celebrate how our cancer support foundation has grown throughout these twenty-seven remarkable years, providing support to those living with or affected by cancer in most impactful and meaningful ways.
It is a great personal honor for me to open the door of my heart and pay tribute to the memory of my husband, Dick Rose, the inspiration for Angel On My Shoulder. Following Dick’s heavenly transition after a courageous battle with cancer, I (along with our children) founded Angel On My Shoulder. Keenly aware of the strength of love, this Foundation was created to “give back” through our mission of making a positive and profound difference to individuals and families affected by cancer.
In that spirit and with grateful hearts, the Rose Family proudly announces that on August 14, 2022 (commemorating the day of Dick’s heavenly transition), we will gently “Sunset” Angel On My Shoulder and transition our mission created as a “Labor of Love” to a “Legacy of Love”.
Angel On My Shoulder will evolve into a beautiful “Sunrise” with new opportunities available to continue our mission to support individuals, children and families on their cancer journeys. Our decision to “Pay It Forward” through newly established” “Angel Endowments” was made with faith, hope and genuine compassion for those in need.
Based on the high volume of referrals provided to us on an ongoing basis throughout Angel’s twenty-seven years, along with the importance of statewide outreach, Angel On My Shoulder proudly names the following health care facilities as recipients of our endowments. Each endowment directly aligns with and will carry on Angel On My Shoulder’s mission for many years to come. Each one designed to focus on Child Life programs to benefit children and families affected by cancer. Other cancer support needs (young and old) will be included.
We are beyond pleased that Angel On My Shoulder can continue to be a blessing to others by providing these new opportunities to meet the needs of those navigating the emotional and stressful world of cancer.
Angel On My Shoulder would be honored and beyond grateful if you would kindly consider any one or more of these as a giving opportunity. It would truly be a meaningful tribute to Angel On My Shoulder’s twenty-seven years of an incredible “Labor of Love” by continuing to support our mission of embracing the needs of individuals, children and families on their cancer journeys to bring them light, peace and hope.
